Aubrey's Turn

Aubrey got her turn to spend the day with Mamaw and Papaw on Thursday. She spent the night Wednesday night and was so eager to play with Evan. She helped Mamaw clean and count eggs, baked cookies, had her fingernails painted and painted Mamaw's toenails, and got to see Uncle Hoss' two brand new baby goats that were born that morning! She was a busy little girl.

Caleb's Turn

Caleb and Evan had a great time playing with each other on Wednesday. We were going to make a trip to Zanesville while Mamaw had a doctor's appointment, but Nick forgot to take Evan's car seat out of the car before he went to Cleveland for the day. That meant no traveling for Evan that day. The boys made the best of being stuck inside all day. They made a cave in the middle of the living room and chased each other around it for a long time. Then they played together in the bathtub until Mamaw made them get out because of their wrinkly fingers and toes. It was really nice to see the boys playing together so well.

Soggy Trip to Amish Country

My brother Nathan and sister-in-law Angie had to go back to work on Tuesday. They worked out a plan to have someone watch two of the kids each day at their house while Mamaw watched one kid at her house. Tuesday happened to be Noah's day, so he had a sleepover at Mamaw's house on Monday night. Even though it was cold and very rainy, we decided to make a trip up to Amish country to run a few errands. I didn't get any pictures from our trip, but Noah was so good with Evan the whole day. We saw several buggies heading to the auction at Farmerstown, went to the boot shop to exchange Noah's boots for the correct size, went to the Christmas shop in Berlin, stopped at the bulk food store, ate lunch at a restaurant in Charm, and then stopped at the Pearl Valley Cheese Factory. I hadn't been to the Amish country for quite a while so we made more stops than normal. Thankfully the boys didn't seem to mind.
When we got home that night, we enjoyed Aunt Marca's lasagna for dinner. Ever since I can remember, Aunt Marca has made lasagna for Christmas lunch/dinner. This year she was nice enough to wait until we made it home to have the lasagna for dinner. Evan absolutely LOVED Aunt Marca's lasagna!

The Larrick Family Christmas

The day after Christmas, we made the trip down to see my family. When we walked into Mamaw and Papaw's house, Evan's "crazy cousins" were so excited to see him. They had been waiting all day long for us to get there and couldn't wait to open their presents.

Evan wanted to help Mamaw and Papaw open their presents.

Christmas Day 2011

We went to the Christmas Eve service at our church with Grandma and Grandpa Schnittker last night. Then this morning, Evan got up at 4:15. Thankfully for us, he went back to sleep for a couple more hours after a new diaper and a bottle. Grandma and Grandpa Schnittker came over to watch Evan open his presents from Santa and have breakfast with us. Evan tore into a few of his presents, but still hasn't really gotten into it like most older kids. He did, however, enjoy all of his toys after they were out of their packages. After a mid-morning nap, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Schnittker's house to open more presents and have a late lunch. Evan had such a great time today that he skipped out on his afternoon nap. This evening we have a very cranky young man!
