Big Brother Meets Little Brother

Mamaw and Papaw brought Evan to the hospital on Thursday afternoon so that he could see Mommy and Daddy and meet his new little brother. He was a little bit unsure of what was going on, but did really well overall. He wanted up on the bed with me and wanted to get a closer look at Grant. He touched him a few times, but had more fun running around the big hospital room and getting everyone to laugh at him. Daddy got some ice cream for Evan, so that made the visit even better.

Evan was a little unsure of the baby on Mommy's lap.

He wanted to touch the baby.

Evan was wearing a "Big Bro" t-shirt and he had a "Little Brother" shirt for his brother.

Evan was still a little bit unsure of what was going on.

Lots of Visitors

Mamaw was glad to hold the baby. Papaw was there too, but he wasn't feeling well enough to hold the baby.

Great Grandma "Nana" Schnittker

Nana and Papa Schnittker were so excited to see their newest great-grandchild.

Mason was happy to hold his newest little cousin.

Proud Aunt Baranda

Grandpa Schnittker was there for the delivery, but had to leave for work before anyone could actually see the baby. He came back Thursday night to see his newest grandson.

This is what my belly looked like on Wednesday night at 39 weeks. We were scheduled for a c-section early the next morning.

Are We Crazy or What?

We put our house up for sale last summer and have had several showings with lots of positive feedback. Until recently, I thought we were never going to sell our house because we kept hearing how nice our house was, but it was just too small. A couple of weeks ago, we received an offer for our house and after a bit of negotiating, we reached an agreement. We have sold our house! This is wonderful news, except that it is all happening at the same time that I am due to have Baby Snickers #2. My due date is April 30th, our closing date is May 11th, and we are temporarily moving into Nick's Aunt and Uncle's townhouse until we can find a new house for our growing family. We have already moved a great deal of boxes and tubs from our house and storage unit, but still have an incredible amount of stuff that will have to be moved after the baby arrives. Of course, I am not much help with moving any of the heavy boxes, but we have been fortunate to have lots of help from our families. The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty crazy around here... wish us luck!

Playing in the Dirt

Evan found a new pile of dirt in our backyard that he likes to play in. It is actually where a tree stump is surrounded by a bunch of broken down old mulch. We used to have a fire pit sitting overtop of the stump until last weekend when my parents took it home with them. Evan was never allowed to play with the fire pit, but is loving the fact that he can play in the pile of dirt!

Pregnancy Pictures

Nick's sister Baranda came to our house yesterday and took a few pictures of our growing family. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant, so we figured we needed to get some pictures taken pretty quickly.

Burger King

While Mamaw and Aubrey were still here yesterday, we ate lunch at Burger King. The food wasn't the greatest but the company was wonderful!

The crown might be a little too big.

Aubrey tried to get a picture with Evan.

17 Months Old

Evan is 17 months old as of today! He measures just about 32 inches tall and weighs 26 pounds. I still can't believe that he will be a big brother in less than a month!

Surprise Visitors!

Mamaw and Aubrey drove up here on Easter afternoon and surprised us! Apparently, my mom called and left me a message in the morning to let me know that they were going to drive up to visit us, but I didn't even see that she had called. While we were visiting with everyone at Grandma and Grandpa Schnittker's house, my phone rang. It was my mom wondering where we were. When I told her where we were, she told me that I have company. I was really confused when she said that she was sitting in our driveway. When I figured out what she was talking about, I told her to come on over for a little bit. Evan was so excited to see Mamaw and Aubrey. When we got back to our house, Aubrey was very eager to hide Easter eggs for Evan to find.  They had a great time with each other!

Waiting for Aubrey to finish hiding the eggs.

Aubrey helped Evan find the eggs that she hid for him.

Evan, Aubrey and Mamaw ware looking at what was hidden inside the eggs.

Evan wanted Mamaw to read one of his new books that he got from the Easter Bunny.
