Exploring the Patio

Long Day At School

I needed to go to school to work in my room again today, so I took Evan with me. I had several toys, lots of food, and a couple bottles to keep Evan occupied and happy. Overall, it was a good day and I was able to get quite a lot accomplished. Evan took a short nap in the Pack-N-Play before someone came in my room and startled him. I never did get  him to go back to sleep. He seemed to have fun exploring all of the bookshelves, desks, computer cords (unplugged), and empty boxes that were scattered throughout the classroom. We arrived at school around 9:30 this morning and didn't get home until after 4:00 this afternoon. It was a LONG DAY for Evan! He fell asleep as soon as I put the car in drive.

Shoo Fly

Evan was watching a fly that kept flying around the front door.

The fly flew away from the front door. He wasn't too happy about it.

Toledo Zoo

Today we had to drive to Toledo to pick up our car that broke down on us last week. It turns out that they had to remove the transmission, rebuild it, then put it back into the car. Whatever they did to it worked because it runs really well now. Since we were in Toledo already, we decided to check out the Toledo Zoo. What a beautiful day to go to the zoo! We saw lots of animals and we had a great time together as a family. The only problem was that the zoo was extremely crowded! It turns out that every Monday is free admission for Lucas County residents. I think that all of Lucas County was there today.   Nick and I had more fun watching the people than watching the animals today. ;-)

Evan was ready to go see the baby elephant Lucas.

The tiger was taking it easy.

The Snow Leopard was so neat.

Lucas was playing with a ball.

Lucas was following his mom. He was so cute!

I Wanna Go Too!

I was outside getting the stroller out of the truck so that I could take Evan for a walk. He was watching me get things ready and was getting upset because he wasn't outside with me.

Evan kept pressing his face up against the window trying to get outside with me.

LOVING This Weather!

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful! Evan and I met a few friends at the local county fair to check out all of the animals and best of all, the fair food! I didn't get any pictures of Evan at the fair, but I did get a cute picture of my friend Kristi's son, Carter with his favorite part of the fair, the tractors!

Carter was standing in the wheel of a BIG tractor at the fair.

Taking a break from playing in the backyard to get a drink.

Evan loved pulling on the grass.

Playing in the grass and dirt.

What a sweet smile!

Playing with Daddy's face.

1st Haircut!

Evan had long flaps of hair that came down over his ears. I don't think that they bothered him, but they drove me nuts! I decided to give him his first haircut last night. Basically, all that I did was snip the hair above his ears, but he looks SO much better! He did pretty well. It helped to have Daddy distracting him with some funny sounds and the camera.

Evan was patiently waiting for his stylist to get her scissors ready.

The first snip!

One side done, one more to go!

Evan was wondering if this was such a good idea.

No more hair over the ears!

Happy, Healthy 9 Month Old!

Evan was waiting for the Dr. to come and see him. He weighed 22 pounds 4.5 ounces and was 29 inches long. That puts him in the 75th %ile for both height and weight.

Unloading the Dishwasher

Evan is trying to figure out what this thing is sticking out in the kitchen.

Evan is trying to pull a plate out of the dishwasher.

Flushing the Toilet

Evan likes to pull himself up onto anything he can. Unfortunately, that includes the toilet.

He likes the shiny handle that makes noises when he pulls on it.

He was just told "NO!" You can see how well that worked.  :-)
