Evan's new toy... he's not quite tall enough for his feet to touch the ground yet, but he loved it anyway!

Evan was not happy with his Mom and Dad because we ate all of his Easter candy.

Looking for some eggs.

"HAPPY EASTER!"

"Are we done with this yet?"

Play Date

Ryan (Nick's cousin), his wife Erin, and their 8-month old son Gianni stopped by on Saturday afternoon for a play date. We hadn't seen them since Christmas, so both Gianni and Evan had changed a great deal since then. It was neat to watch the boys try to figure one another out. Gianni is moving all over the place and Evan is just getting the hang of rolling in all directions. Evan did manage to sit up on his own for the longest time yet, while he was playing with Gianni. We can't wait until the next time that we all get together again for another play date.

Breakfast with Family

Nick's cousin, Heath, is home from Afghanistan for a few weeks. He and his wife Darlene and their daughter Lexie stopped in Sandusky to have breakfast with us on their way home from visiting their son in Toledo. They had never seen Evan in person and couldn't get enough of him! We had a great time catching up with them and we're so thankful for the opportunity to visit with them before Heath has to go back to Afghanistan in a couple of weeks.

Great Friends

My good friends Natalie and Jenny came over to visit Evan and I on Friday. Natalie brought her sweet 2-year old daughter Annabelle. It was so much fun watching Annabelle interact with Evan. She is so active and busy! Jenny is expecting her first baby on Wednesday, so it was fun to talk to her about her pregnancy and fast approaching due date. She is getting excited to finally have her baby, although she is also getting nervous. I remember those feelings; so eager to finally meet my little bundle, but very nervous about the whole thing. I am so excited for Jenny and Matt and I can't wait to meet their little one.

Dada???

Evan has been babbling quite a bit lately and there is one thing in particular that gets our attention. In the middle of his random babbles, we can hear  what sounds like "dada." I don't think that he really knows what he is saying at this point, but it is still pretty neat to hear him experiment with talking.

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin!

Evan is rolling everywhere! I put him down on his play mat this afternoon and watched him immediately roll over to his belly, then his back, and then his belly again. He had rolled halfway across our living room (which isn't very big) until he ran into his Jumperoo and got stuck! Not only is he rolling all over the place, but he has started to scoot forward on his tummy some too. He pulls his knees up to his belly, sticking his butt up in the air and slowly scoots his body forward a few inches at a time. Gone are the days when we could just lay him on his play mat and he would be satisfied with just batting at the animals dangling down in front of him. Now, we have to keep watching him because if we look away for a second, he ends up halfway across the room!

Schnittker Pizza Party!

Nick's cousin, Brandon (who now lives in California with his wife Nikki) was in town for a very short visit. We all gathered together at Chet and Matt's for some good pizza and great family time! It was wonderful to see Brandon again and hear all about their life out on the West Coast.

A Few Snapshots

"I'm a big flirt!"

"What?"

"I can sit up with a little bit of help from my Daddy!"

"I love sucking my thumb!"

"Or eating my hand!"

"I'm getting good at holding my head up!"

"I found my feet!"
"I'm getting ready to start scooting across my play mat!"

Old McPapaw's Farm

On our way home from Nashville, we stopped back at my parents' house for a couple of days. The weather was finally nice enough to take Evan outside to see all of the animals on the farm. In an earlier post I have mentioned Nick singing "Old McPapaw's Farm" instead of Old McDonald's Farm to Evan. Well, we finally were able to show Evan all of the animals that we sing about. He was pretty indifferent about the whole experience, but Nick and I had a nice time petting all of the animals for him.

Bottle fed baby goats.

Papaw's newest baby goats.

Trying to get Evan to pet the babies.

Evan seemed more interested in looking at Papaw than the baby goat.

All bundled up watching all the goats running around.

Petting Catie

Emmy

Frosty, who happens to be 35 years old!

Papaw's big tractor that I am sure Evan will want to take several rides in when he gets older.

A couple of calves.

Mommy's turn!

Petting Emmy again.

Tour of "Old McPapaw's Farm" is complete. Now it's time to go inside to get warmed up.
