We went to visit my friend Gretchen who is renting a house while their new house is being built. Colin gets to sleep in the cool space shuttle bed! Evan was checking out all of the buttons and lights in this neat bed.

Mama, Finally!

Finally, Evan has started to say "Mama"! Up until only recently, he has pretty much only said "Dad" or "Dadda" for everything. I understand that "Dadda" is easier to say, but COME ON! It is nice to walk through the door when I get home from work and see him smile and say "Mama." It just melts my heart!

A Beautiful Fall Saturday

Every year my dad would climb up the tall TV antennae in the front of the house to hang the star covered with colored Christmas lights. He would then wrap more lights around the antennae down to the ground. My parents' house sits at the top of a large hill so the star could be seen a very long distance away. It was always pretty neat to be able to see the star from about a mile away as we started down the first big hill on their road. My dad stopped putting the star on the top of the antennae several years ago, and therefore none of his grandkids have ever seen it. I may have guilted him into getting the star back out so that his grandkids might be able to enjoy it as much as we did when we were kids. Of course, we had to put new lights on the star, but they are even better now because they are much brighter than before. My dad didn't feel comfortable climbing up to the top of the antennae, so my brother Nathan volunteered to do it for him.

Nathan hung up the star on Mamaw and Papaw's antennae and Noah and Caleb helped. 

Papaw used to put the star up higher, but Nathan said the antennae was a bit wobbly. He went up as far as he thought was safe.  

Noah and Caleb climbed up the antennae to hand Nathan the strands of lights. 

Aubrey was running around the house to check out the boys' progress. 

Aunt Angie was trying to save Evan from all of the cousins' kisses. 

Time to try out the tree swing. 

Noah wanted to see if he could still fit in the little swing. 

Caleb didn't want to get his picture taken.
