Chuck E Cheese

Nick's younger brother, Matthew and his fiancé, Pari got married in Atlanta on the last weekend in April. We left shortly after I got out of school on Wednesday, and drove through the night. We made a short pitstop at my parents' house first so that we could pick up my mom. She went along with us to help out with the boys. Other than the speeding ticket that Nick obtained somewhere in Virginia at 1:00 in the morning, the trip to Georgia went pretty well. We made it into Atlanta at about 7:00 Thursday morning. We hung out at the hotel lobby with Mimi and Poppa for an hour or so, until they had our room ready. Later that day, Mimi and Poppa took the grandkids to Chuck-E-Cheese and we all had so much fun! Thank you Mimi and Poppa!

This clock game didn't work correctly and Evan was actually stuck in this position. 

He tried so hard to get the balls over the little glass ledge, but he didn't have a whole lot of luck. 

I decided to help him a little bit.

Grant couldn't steer and reach the pedal, so he decided to just focus on the pedal. 

Just Sittin on the Pot

Grant loves to get into the bottom kitchen cabinets and get anything and everything out to play with. This time he pulled out a few pots and pans and tried to sit in a pot. He wasn't able to sit in the pot, but he was able to sit on it! 

Cleveland Zoo

Last April, I attended a local fundraiser and won four free tickets to the Cleveland Zoo. They expired at the end of April, so we took the boys on a sunny, yet chilly Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and saw lots of active animals because the weather was so nice. We didn't get to see the entire zoo because the boys were worn out from all of the walking. We took the stroller, but Evan wanted to walk the entire time and Grant wanted to be held, which made Mommy and Daddy tired. We ended up pushing around an empty stroller most of the time!

Daddy and Grant watched the bears wrestle with each other and play with the big barrels. 

The bears were a lot of fun to watch. They were very active, wrestling with each other, swimming and playing with the big barrels.

Grant didn't want to ride in the stroller, but he did want to try to push it instead.

Grant wanted to be held most of the day, which wore Mommy and Daddy out. 

Evan kept asking to see the monkeys. We did see a couple of monkeys who were sleeping, but we didn't make it  to the big monkey exhibit which was up one of the very big hills. Maybe next time! 

Chilly Day for Opening the Pool

The pool guys came out on a very chilly (even snowy) Saturday morning in April to vacuum the pool and install a new pump and filter. It took them several hours, but when they left the pool was already looking so much better.

They continued working even in "blizzard-like" conditions! 

Nick wanted to see how the vacuum worked, since it will have to be vacuumed again.

You can start to see a big difference where he had vacuumed and where he hadn't. 

This is what the pool looked like when they had finished for the day. Still not completely clean, but much better!

Grant's Early Birthday Present

I went to a local fundraiser with a few of my friends and won a couple of nice prizes for the second year in a row! Last year I won four tickets to the Cleveland Zoo and this year I won four tickets to see the Toledo Mud Hens baseball team and this cool Hot Wheels Jeep! We decided to give it to Grant for his birthday this year, but he saw it a couple of weeks early. I forgot that it was hidden in the back of the truck and the boys saw it when we sat on the tailgate to watch Daddy mow the front yard one night. Grant looks so cute driving that little Jeep around the driveway. Of course, Evan loves it too!
