A Little Trim Here and There

I decided to trim Grant's hair a little bit more. I gradually keep making it shorter and shorter and it keeps getting blonder and blonder.

The boys were playing on the balcony outside our bedroom.

It's a Girl!

Aunt Tara and Uncle Derek found out the gender of their baby (due in September) and invited us over to hear the big news. Tara had planned ahead and wrapped a baby boy outfit in one package and a baby girl outfit in another package and gave them both to Aunt Tracy the week before to open in front of all of us for the gender reveal. We did Skype with Aunt Tracy so that we could all watch her open the package that Tara told her to open. When Tracy pulled out a pair of little pink booties we all figured out that it was going to be a girl! Nick had to work that night, so I video tapped Aunt Tracy opening the package so that he could see for himself whether he was going to have a niece or a nephew. To celebrate, we had ice cream sundaes with all kinds of pink toppings.

Evan is waiting patiently for his ice cream sundae.

The Pool is Ready to Go!

The water might not have been warm enough to swim, but the pool was all cleaned up and ready to go!

National Apraxia of Speech Awareness Day

On May 14th we all wore blue and white in honor of our nephew Mason because it was National Apraxia of Speech Awareness Day.

Planting the Garden

Nick is so proud of his garden! He planted lots of corn, tomatoes, green beans, peppers, cucumbers and watermelon! The boys "helped" him plant everything and they have really enjoyed watching everything grow.

Nick cut up some of the old carpet that was removed from our house to help reduce the amount of weeds between the rows of plants.

Nick put up a chicken wire fence to keep the animals and the kids out of the garden.

Digging up Mommy's Flowerbed

There is a big bare spot in one of the flowerbeds in the front of the house from where Nick pulled out a couple of overgrown bushes. The boys love to play in the dirt pile.

Cookout with Friends

On May 10th we had our friends, the Smiths, over for a cookout and the boys wanted to check out the pool. It was still pretty chilly, but as you can tell they didn't seem to mind. What started out as just getting their feet wet, turned into getting completely soaked!
