Dreaming of Hunting with Daddy
Grandpa got this camouflaged shirt for Evan when he went deer hunting in the fall. I can't help but think that Evan is dreaming about going on hunting trips with his daddy and grandpa or even his Uncle Nathan and Uncle Hoss. I am sure that he will be spending a lot of time outdoors in the future!

3 Month Old
Our sweet little boy turned three months old last Thursday. It is hard to believe how fast the last three months have flown by and how much he has changed in such a short period of time. He has just about doubled in weight already! Evan is a very active baby and is so much fun to interact with. He has been smiling, laughing, "talking," kicking, and swatting his hands at anything within his reach. It is so neat to watch his reaction when he sees his reflection in the mirror. He gets so excited and smiles like crazy when he reaches out and tries to touch the reflection of his hand. We just love watching him develop more and more everyday.

"Old McPapaw"
Nick and I like to sing songs to Evan and watch him smile, laugh and kick his legs. Sometimes we don't even sing an actual song, instead we just make up tunes with random words. One song that Nick tends to modify on a regular basis is Old MacDonald. He likes to sing "Old McPapaw" and name all of the animals that Papaw Larrick has on his farm. The animals listed in the song include a horse, donkey, goat, chicken, cow, dog, cat, and occasionally a pig. Evan loves listening to his daddy sing that song and make all of the animal noises. We know that he will really enjoy getting to see the real life animals whenever he visits Mamaw and Papaw's farm.

Remembering My Grandma Tom
My Grandma Tom (maternal grandmother) loved to watch all of the birds in the winter time, but her absolute favorite bird was the beautiful red Cardinal. Every time that I see a Cardinal I am reminded of my grandma and what a wonderful woman she was. Today, while I was watching the birds at the bird feeder in our back yard, I noticed at least three bright red Cardinals. I couldn't help but think that Grandma Tom was keeping an eye on us today and smiling at her new great-grandson Evan. I know that she would be so proud of her 11 grandchildren and the successful adults that we all have become. She would be even more proud of her 12, soon-to-be 14, great-grandchildren!

Messy Day for Daddy!
A couple of weeks ago I received these two pictures on my phone while I was at work. Evan had a major blowout, so Nick wanted to make sure that I saw what he was dealing with that day. I couldn't believe that this was possible until the same thing happened the very next day when I was at home. What a mess!
