Evan and Papaw

Looking at all the goats, but not getting too far from Papaw.

Watching the goats walk back into the barn.

Evan wanted to take a hayride.

He finally warmed up to the idea of riding on the tractor. He loves tractors but for some reason would not ride one until now.

He took several tractor rides.

He also figured out how to get free rides around the yard. Apparently his big cousins pushed him around in this car all day on Friday.

Only Child

My parents went back home on Thursday afternoon and took Evan with them so Grant was our "only child" for a couple of days. We were already planning to go to Mamaw and Papaw's house for the weekend, so my mom suggested that they take Evan with them on Thursday and we would be down on Friday evening after Nick was finished with work. Evan did really well by himself and enjoyed a whole day of playing outside with the cousins. Although we really missed him, we were able to get so much accomplished without Evan here, so we decided to wait until Saturday morning to head down to my parents' house. He was so busy playing and enjoying the tractors and animals that I don't think Evan even realized that we weren't there on Thursday and Friday.

Mamaw and Papaw's Day Care Service

Nick's rental house is empty and we needed to clean it up and paint a couple of rooms before he rents it out again. It is almost impossible to get much completed when we have the boys with us so Mamaw and Papaw volunteered to come up for a couple of days to watch the boys while Nick and I worked on the house. We were able to get a lot accomplished and Mamaw and Papaw enjoyed quality time with the boys. We even made a trip to Toft's for some ice cream and then played on the playground at Lion's Park.

Mamaw and the boys

I love all of the rolls on Grant's arms. It almost looks like he has big biceps.

Brothers

Grant is just chillin' in the swing.

Evan was showing Grant how to spin the toy on his seat.

Grant figured out how to spin the toy by himself.

Kisses for Grant

Grant rolled over onto his side, but wasn't able to get any farther.

Huron Riverfest

On Friday the 13th, we took the boys to the Riverfest in Huron to get some "fair food" and watch the fireworks. We didn't get there until about 8:45 because the fireworks weren't supposed to start until 10:15 and we didn't want to have to keep the boys entertained much longer than that. We met up with Kristi and Steve and their kids and Kristi's parents, Mary and Ed. It was nice to sit on the hillside and watch the fireworks and be able to catch up with them. Thankfully and surprisingly, Grant slept the entire time we were there. I couldn't believe that he didn't even flinch when the loud fireworks were exploding across the river.

"Mow...Papa...Nana....Mow"

The renters in Nick's rental house moved out on July 10th, so after dinner on July 12th, we all went to check it out and clean things up a little bit. The yard needed to be mowed, so Nick had to borrow his Papa's lawn mower. Evan was so excited to watch his Daddy mow the yard and then walk the lawn mower back to Papa and Nana's house. The only problem was that Nana and Papa were not there so we didn't get to see them.

Evan thought it was too bright inside so he had to put some shades on. The only way he can get them to stay on his face is if he puts them on upside down.

Evan helped Daddy push the mower from Nick's rental house back over to Papa and Nana's house.  Luckily it is just around the corner.
