We took Evan to get his 4 month shots this afternoon. Our appointment was for 3:45, but we didn't get called back to the room until 4:30. Evan just hung out and did really well during the long wait. Nick and I, however, were a little irritated with the long wait. When we finally got back to the room, Evan was his happy little self, smiling and kicking like crazy. I felt so bad because I knew what he was in for but he had no clue. The nurse was really quick, which helped out a lot. He had to get an oral shot, three shots in his left thigh and one in his right thigh. He swallowed the oral shot without any hesitation. I was pleasantly surprised. Next came shot #1. Again, he didn't seem to flinch. Once the nurse stuck him a second time, there was a bit of a whimper. By the time she gave him the third shot, it was an all out scream. He was so mad that his face was as red as a cherry and it looked like he couldn't breath. He cried for a few more seconds after he got his last shot, but once I talked to him a little bit, he was fine. He was quickly back to his normal smiley self. He fell asleep on the way home this afternoon and is still sleeping right now. Hopefully he wakes up happy, but I have a feeling we might be in for a cranky night.
