Two-Way Roller

Well, I have figured out how to upload the pictures from my camera onto my new computer. However, I have yet to figure out how to get the pictures into this blog. I'm sure that if I just keep playing around, I will figure it out eventually.
On a lighter note, Evan has finally figured out how to roll from his stomach to his back! He has been able to roll from his back to his stomach (to his left side only) for a while now, but he just recently figured out how to roll back over onto his back. He has gotten very close several times, but would just get onto his side and couldn't figure out how to keep going.  He has been able to scoot himself all over his crib and he often gets stuck in one of the corners and we have to go into his room and move him back to the one end of the crib where he started the night. I think that he has rolled over a couple of times in the night, but we haven't seen it. Yesterday, I laid him on his back to play on his play mat. He instantly rolled over onto his stomach. I watched as he lifted up his head and looked around at everything and then proceed to scoot himself forward a little bit. I let him play there for a little bit, and when I looked back to see how he was doing, he was on his back! I was so excited that I laid him on his stomach to see if he would roll over with me watching him. He sure did! I think that he is proud of himself. I know we are!

New Computer

Our old, run down computer had not been working right lately. It was around 7 years old or so and slowly decided to stop working. This last week, I hadn't been able to do much of anything on it because it would just turn off for no reason. That explains why I haven't updated the blog for a little while. Nick and I decided that it was time to buy a new computer this past weekend. We decided to make the switch to a Macbook, so needless to say we are very slowly trying to learn how to use it. The new computer is wonderful but it is very different than what we are used to using. I have several pictures that I want to post on here but am having a difficult time figuring out how to upload them from my camera onto the computer. I am sure it is very simple, but I am just afraid to push the wrong buttons and mess something up. A couple of my friends have Macbook computers, so I have a feeling that they will be getting a phone call sometime soon to help me through the picture uploading process. Hopefully I will get it figured out soon so that everyone can enjoy the new pictures. Wish me luck!

Catching Flies

I was on spring break last week and was able to take a lot of naps with Evan. Nick thought it would be funny to take a picture of Evan and I "catching flies" during one of our naps. Although it is not a very flattering picture, I too thought it was funny, so I decided to share.

Grandpa Tom's 90th Birthday Party

My Grandpa Tom turned 90 years old on March 20th. We had a wonderful birthday celebration with a family gathering the following weekend in his church basement. It was an extra special celebration for Grandpa because his two sisters and some of their family members as well as his three daughters and most of their family members were able to make it to the party. We had a yummy lunch as well as our family birthday tradition of homemade cake and ice cream. We surprised Grandpa with 90 random things that he might need including his favorite treat, Oatmeal Cream Pies. We also presented him with a photo book with pictures of his entire life and continuously growing family. It was an amazing tribute to such a special person and his wonderfully long life.

Magic

A couple of weeks ago, I watched my 4 year old niece Emily and 3 year old nephew Mason for a couple of hours. I had to feed Evan, so I covered myself and proceeded to feed him while I was sitting in the living room. Emily, who is always very eager to help out with Evan, quickly said that she wanted to help feed him his bottle. I politely told her that he wasn't going to eat from a bottle. She looked at me with a very puzzled look and asked me how he was going to get his milk. I smiled and said that he was getting his milk from me. Again, she was very confused. She looked at him squirming around on my lap, underneath the cover and asked me how he gets his milk from me. I told her that all mommies have milk and they are able to feed their babies. I gave her a few examples like mommy cows, mommy bears, mommy cats, etc. Her eyes lit up, she smiled and said excitedly, "Wow, Aunt Lindsay! You are magic! You can feed Baby Evan without a bottle! You are magic!" I just giggled and agreed with her. I guess it is a special kind of magic.

Green Beans

We have been feeding Evan some rice cereal everyday, but tonight we decided to give green beans a try. He loved them! He would have eaten the entire container if Daddy would have let him.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
