Getting Into EVERYTHING!

Evan loves the bath tub so much that he tries to get into it whenever he makes his way into the bathroom.

Daddy was taking a shower and Evan wanted to get into the water too.

Soak City

A couple of weeks ago, Evan and I went to Soak City with my friend Natalie and her two-year-old daughter Annabelle. We spent a couple hours splashing around in the baby pool area. It was perfect because Evan could just sit and play with his toys and splash the water, while Annabelle could roam around, go into the "deeper" part and even go down some of the little slides. We all had so much fun! It was a super hot day and the water felt great! When I took Evan over to the chair to feed him some lunch and a bottle, he fell asleep. We moved into the shady area where it was much cooler, and Annabelle went down a few bigger slides.

Too much fun in the sun!

We found a shady place to take a nap.

All rested up and in dry clothes ready to go home before the big storm hits! Exactly five minutes after Natalie dropped us off, a huge thunderstorm came through!

Perch Fishing for the 1st Time

Nick's grandpa's cousin, Marvin and his wife, Sarah, were visiting from Colorado a couple of weeks ago. They chartered a boat to go perch fishing and they asked if we would like to go along with them. I had never fished in Lake Erie and was super excited for the opportunity. Thanks to Great-Grandma Schnittker for watching Evan while we went fishing. There were seven of us fishing and together we caught about 120 yellow perch. I would say it was a pretty good day, even though Sarah and I both got a little bit sea sick!  I had so much fun, I would do it again in a heartbeat! I just need to remember to take some dramamine before hand.

One of the many yellow perch that I caught that day! This was right before I had to stop because I was getting sea sick. The waves were so big that day!
Nick caught at "double header."

Nick and his Papa enjoying the day together.

What a beautiful day to be out on the water! I had a great time, but my big smile is because the boat was moving again.

Nick was glad that he was able to go fishing with his grandpa!

Evan enjoyed the blue raspberry Icee that the nice man at the fish place gave to him.  Mommy and Daddy might have stolen a few bites as well.

Evan is all boy, playing with the rocks and the dirt.

It's Time To Baby-proof!

Evan has figured out how to pull open the drawers in the bathroom.

He also likes to shred napkins or paper towels apart.

Then put the pieces into his mouth.

Big Helper

Nick and I have decided to put our house on the market because we are simply running out of room. We love our house and the neighborhood that we live in, but since we don't have a basement, we are quickly running out of places to put things. It is amazing how much stuff we've acquired since Evan has come along!  Before we put the for sale sign in our yard, I asked my mom and dad to come up to help with a few projects to get the house ready. Of course, they jumped right on the opportunity to spend some time with Evan. He loves having his Mamaw and Papaw around!

Evan is crawling through the tunnel to see what Papaw is doing.

Helping Papaw hammer in a nail.

Trying to take the hammer away from Papaw.

Ornery little grin.

Evan had to see what Mamaw was working on as well.

Play Time With Cousins

Nick's cousin, Jaime and her daughter, Mya were visiting from Florida, so they came over for a play date and some pizza. Mya is one month older than Evan so it was lots of fun to watch her and Evan interact with one another.

Evan is not sure what to think of Mya playing with his toys.

Uncle Nick was playing with Emily and Mason

Happy 1st Birthday Gianni!

Last Saturday, Evan and I went to Gianni's 1st birthday party. Gianni is the son of Ryan (Nick's cousin) and Erin. He had a lot of family there to celebrate with him, which was absolutely wonderful. I had a great time watching in amazement at how Gianni walked (or waddled) all around the house. I just know that Evan is not very far behind and that makes me both excited and nervous.

Mike had Evan and his nephew Gianni on his lap.

Gianni and Marilyn, his "Nona"

Kennedy played with Evan.

Gianni was trying to figure out what to do with his cake.

Gianni wanted to share some of his cake with his daddy, Ryan.
