Last Thursday Nick, Evan and I took a short road trip to Maumee, Ohio. We went to visit my college friends, Tracy and Heather and see their precious, new baby girl, Scout. They live several hours away in Pennsylvania, but were visiting Heather's parents this past week. We hadn't seen Tracy or Heather since our wedding and we had never met little Scout. She was born very prematurely and spent a long time in the NICU, but now at 8 weeks old, Scout is about 6 pounds. I was blown away by how tiny she was and couldn't believe that now she weighs almost twice what she weighed when she was born. She is truly an absolutely beautiful blessing to Tracy and Heather and she is doing so very well! When Tracy held Evan up to Scout, she was amazed with how much bigger his hands were than hers.

As we were leaving Heather's parent's house, our car decided not to work right. Something went wrong with the transmission and we had to call for a tow truck. Thankfully we hadn't made it out of their housing development, so Tracy, Heather, Heather's mom and Scout came to our rescue. They were getting ready to head to the grocery store when I called them, so they stopped and picked Evan and I up while Nick stayed with our car to wait for the tow truck. It was so cute to see Evan and Scout sitting next to each other in their car seats. After some shopping and some time spent waiting in the car dealership parking lot, we were able to get a rental car and we were on our way home. Although it was a pretty crazy afternoon, it was wonderful to get to spend some more time with the girls!
